2012 Shipping Season

Customers are encouraged to request a shipping week for their order, either during the check-out process or in a reply to the order confirmation email they receive from our nursery.  If no week is requested, we will use the following shipping schedule as a guideline to ship your order.  In particular, we try to ship orders with dormant or early flowering plants as early as possible.  Plants that arrive when temperatures are still below freezing may need to be protected in a basement, garage or cool greenhouse.  This is particularly important for bulbous plants.

SPRING SHIPPING SCHEDULE

We cannot ship plants when temperatures are below freezing at the nursery.  As weather conditions permit, we will begin shipping orders as follows:
USDA Zones 8 and higher begins in Feb
USDA Zones 6 & 7 begins in March
USDA Zones 5 and lower begins in April

**With any order, if you have a desired shipping date, please let us know and we will do our best to accomodate you.

* Shipping Costs are based on Postal Service Priority Mail rates which provides 2-3 day delivery (equivalent to UPS 2nd Day Air).  This allows plants to travel across country by air and arrive at their destination in good condition. We feel that the shipping costs, while not inexpensive, provide good value to customers.

Sometimes orders arrive on a shipping day and we are able to get them out right away.  Most often, you will receive a confirmation e-mail within 24 hours indicating when your order is scheduled to be shipped. Please adjust your spam filters and check your junk mail folder to make sure our message arrives in your inbox. During peak spring shipping season, it may take us one to three weeks to ship your order and we appreciate your patience.  Early season orders will be shipped according to the schedule at the top of this page unless you make a special request for early shipment.

We ship early in the week in order to increase the likelihood that you will receive your plants during the same week they are mailed.  In the event of extreme weather conditions, we may delay shipment and will notify you by e-mail.    On the day of shipment, you will receive an e-mail with a tracking number.  You can expect to receive your plants 2-3 days after the shipment date although delivery may take longer to some locations.

At any time, feel free to check with us about the status of your order.

In some cases, as with some dormant tubers and bulbs, our shopping cart overcharges for shipping.  In this situation, we will refund excess shipping charges at the time of shipping when exact charges are known.   Our minimum shipping charge is $12.00.

PLANT INFO:

Our hardy plants are grown in the open or in unheated facilities. Some plants shipped during the winter months or early spring will be in varying degrees of dormancy.

We select the best specimens available to ship.  Plants are carefully wrapped to prevent moisture loss during shipping and, in some cases, excess soil is removed.  Upon arrival, plants should be unwrapped, watered, if needed, and placed in a sheltered location if you are unable to plant immediately.

RETURNS/CREDITS:

We want you to be 100% satisfied with every plant you purchase from Wild Ginger Farm.

Plants: Please inspect your plants upon arrival and notify us within 7 days of receiving your order if you are not satisfied with any part of your order.

Dormant tubers, rhizomes and bulbs: You will receive care instructions with your order which you should follow carefully.  If cared for properly and the item fails to break dormancy (this can be very late in the season for some plants!), please let us know and we will discuss your situation with you.

Note: We are sorry but we cannot be responsible for how plants perform in your garden so select your plants carefully based on your garden conditions and climate.   Our maximum liability is limited to the original purchase price.  Please do not return plants without prior authorization.
