Creeping green to reddish tinged succulent 4” high with white umbel panicles June- Aug (shown above on left). There are a number of variations including one with reddish leaves and stems and pink flowers (above right). Grow in full to part sun with low to mod water in any soil. Spreads freely so careful placement is important. Can be used in containers, rock gardens, trailing over rock walls or as groundcovers. Occurs throughout Europe in a variety of situations and elevations. Hardy to -10 degrees F.

Forms a very low carpet of tiny tufts with red tips when grown in full sun. Small white to pink flowers sometimes appear. Native to moist areas in the low mountains of Turkey, it is one of the sedums that need regular water particularly if grown in a container. Hardy to -20 degrees F

Sedum makinoi 'Variegatum'
An unusual creeping sedum with multi-colored leaves and yellow flowers in summer. This Japanese species found in moist, rocky, shady areas and is not considered completely winter hardy. Ours has survived for two winters in containers as well as in the open rock garden although there has been some foliage dieback. We are not certain whether this is from wet or cold. Hardy to 10 degrees F.
