perennial with finely cut leaves to 10” high. Large purple flowers
in spring followed by ornamental seed heads. Grow in full to part
sun, very well drained, infertile soil. Dislikes root disturbances.
Use in rock gardens, scree beds, raised beds. Meadows and grassy areas in the European
