Mountain Heath

 

A handsome little evergreen shrub that grows 8" high x 12" wide.  It has dark green, linear leaves and produces many pitcher shaped pink flowers on short stems in late spring to summer.  Prefers cool weather so grows best in partial shade in moderately fertile, moist soil.  A very hardy Arctic-Alpine of the northern hemisphere.   Ericaceae
