Evergreen blue green tufts with small bottlebrush-like white flowers in summer.   2-4" x 12”.   Sun or part shade, very sharply drained soil.    Grow in trough, crevice garden, scree bed or small-scale rock garden.   Native to rocks and crevices in the mountains of the interior Western US.   Hardy to –10 degrees F.   Rosaceae

Halfshrub rockmat


 

A bit larger, but with very similar evergreen blue green tufts and bottlebrush-like white flowers in summer.  6" x 12”.   Sun or part shade, very sharply drained soil.    Native to basalt cliffs along the Columbia River, Chelan and Douglas Counties, Washington. .   Hardy to –10 degrees F.   Rosaceae
