Shrubby Monkey Flower


Upright shrub to 3' x 3' with sticky, narrow, dark green leaves and trumpet shaped pale to dark orange flowers all summer.   Grow in sun to part shade in well-drained soil with low water. Although listed as hardy to 10 degrees F, it benefits from a winter mulch where temperatures drop into the teens.  Native to rocky slopes along the coastal mountains of SW Oregon and California.    Scrophulariaceae

Pink Monkey Flower


This moisture loving perennial spreads by rhizomes and produces lovely pale to dark pink, yellow throated, tubular flowers all summer.  Grow in sun to part shade in moist to wet soil. Very cold hardy to -30 degrees F and found in the Western US from Alaska to California and east to the Rockies. Scrophulariaceae
