Golden Flax


A handsome upright, woody perennial 6” x 6” with lance-shaped, dark green leaves and bright yellow flowers in summer. Grow in full sun in light, sharply-drained soil with low to moderate water.   Protect from excessive winter wet, although they have survived our winters fine in our raised scree bed.  Grow in rock garden, scree bed, alpine house, trough.  Hardy to -20 degrees F.  The species is native to steppes of C. and S. King's Flax


Congested, scale-like blue-gray leaves on woody base with lemon yellow flowers.  4 x  4”. Full sun, very well drained soil, low water.  Hardy to –20 degrees F.  A common wildflower of the interior West.   Linaceae

Flax


A sweet little plant that forms a low mat of narrow grasslike leaves and short stems with large white flowers in spring.  4" x 4" Grow in full sun in light, sharply-drained soil with low to moderate water.   Hardy to -10 degrees. F  Europe.  Linaceae
