Twisting, leafless stems with cymes of brown flowers in summer. 8” high.    Sun or part shade, acidic, moist or boggy soil.  Hardy to 0 degrees F. Species native to the Pacific Northwest where it is found in moist habitats in a wide range of elevation.   Juncaceae
