Helianthemum  apenninum

Shrub to 18” tall. White or pink blossom racemes, yellow centers May-July.   Full sun, well drained  poor to moderately fertile soil, low to mod water.   Sheer after flowering.  Native to dry grasslands in Europe.  Hardy to –10 degrees F. Cistaceae

Low growing, evergreen shrub with yellow flowers in summer.   6” X 24”   Full sun, well-drained soil, low water.   Shear after bloom. Native to dry grasslands Europe. Hardy to –20 degrees F. Cistaceae

(syn.  Helianthemum nummularium 'Mutabile')

This evergreen shrub comes in a mixture of flower colors that include white, pink, rose ,red and yellow It blooms in summer and grows to about 12” X 24”.   Full sun, well-drained soil, low water.   Shear after bloom. Hardy to –20 degrees F. Cistaceae

 

 

 

 

 


 

Helianthemum oelandicum ssp alpestre -

 

This dwarf shrub forms a dense green carpet with bright yellow flowers June thru Aug.   5” X 8”  Grow in full sun in lean, well drained gritty soil.   We've been impressed with this plant's attractive foliage, long blooming season and compact form.  Zones 6-8. Native to mountains of Southern Europe.  Cistaceae
