Deciduous shrub that can reach 3-4 feet high and wide with clusters of fuzzy tubed, fragrant yellow flowers on naked branches in late winter.

Does best when protected from temperature extremes. Grow in partial shade in moderately fertile, well drained soil, moist soil. Also handsome when grown as a large container plant where it can be moved to a protected location in winter. Hardy to 10 degrees F. Found in forests and on vegetated slopes in China. Thymelaeaceae
