Rosettes of light green leaves with spikes of pink reflexed flowers with yellow tubes, purple at base in spring.  12" x 6" Grow in sun to part shade in humus rich soil.  Keep moist from fall to spring season, drier during summer dormancy.     Hardy to - 0 degrees F.  Grassy hillside slopes in California  Primulaceae

Basal rosettes of light green leaves with spikes of bright red 'shooting star' flowers in spring.  Grow in sun to part shade inhumus rich soil.  Keep moist fall through spring, drier during summer dormancy.     15" x 6".  Hardy to - 10 degrees F.   Meadows and streamsides in the mountains of the Western US.    Primulaceae
