  Hot Pink Blossoms

A showy creeping succulent with long cylindrical, succulent leaves and hot pink flowers all summer.   4” x 24”  Grow in full sun with low water in sharply drained soil with gravel mulch. Use as a groundcover in rock garden or raised bed.   Zones 6-10.  Rocky slopes of central South African mountains.  Aizoaceae

A note on the cultivation of Delosperma cooperi:

For the past couple of years we have had volunteer Delosperma cooperi plants growing under the benches in our open hoop houses at the nursery.  They have grown exceptionally large with healthy foliage yearround in moist, partially shaded conditions in fertile soil with average drainage.  The only downside we can see is that they don't bloom quite as much as those in the full sun, still impressive though.  Apparently these plants haven't read the book.
